NASA launches Eyes on the Solar System to view the solar system in 3D environment

NASA just launches a free web browser-based application known as “Eyes on the Solar System” that facilitate users to explore a 3D version of the solar system full of real NASA mission data. The new application contains a video game technology to view the the motion of the planets, their satellites and NASA spacecraft with beautifully generated models of all the planets, asteroids and the Sun.

In order to download it the users have to download the Unity Web Player, a free plug-in, for Mac and PC at first. Then go explore the models of the planets, comets, and asteroids.

One can also travel back in time that dates from as far back as 1950. You can also travel to the future with projected data that goes up to 2050.

This is the first time that public will be able to overview the entire solar system with planets and their moons, asteroids, and other objects in real time.
